Modulation of tomato root architecture and root hair traitsby Pseudomonas brassicacearum and Variovorax paradoxus containing 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate deaminase

چکیده
By decreasing root 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate (ACC) content and plant ethylene production, the microbial enzyme ACC deaminase is a widespread beneficial trait of growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR), ameliorating ethylene-mediated growth inhibition. However, relatively little known about whether bacterial modulates architecture hair traits. Thus dwarf tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) cultivar Micro-Tom was inoculated in vitro with Pseudomonas brassicacearum Am3, its deficient mutant T8-1, PGPR strain Variovorax paradoxus 5C-2 or chemically treated agents that promoted inhibited production sensitivity (Ag+, Co2+, ACC). treatment reduced both elongation number lateral roots, while inhibitors Co2+) V. primary elongation, but differentially affected length number. Ag+ stimulated development, Co2+ did not. Inoculation P. Am3 T8-1 roots at high inoculum concentration (106 cells cm3). All strains significantly increased hairs, these effects more pronounced than T8-1. Treatment formation had opposite effects. no effect on density. While inhibition caused by independent deaminase, promotion density this augmented activity. can modulate morphological impacts bacteria response affecting content.

Pseudomonas brassicacearum strain Am3 containing 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate deaminase can show both pathogenic and growth-promoting properties in its interaction with tomato.
The role of bacterial 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate (ACC) deaminase activity in the interaction between tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum=Solanum lycopersicum) and Pseudomonas brassicacearum was studied in different strains. The phytopathogenic strain 520-1 possesses ACC deaminase activity, an important trait of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) that stimulates root growth. The ACC-...

Background: Many plant growth-promoting bacteria including Rhizobia contain the 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate (ACC) deaminase enzyme that can leave ACC, and thereby lower the level of ethylene in stressed plants. Drought and salinity are the most common environmental stress factors for plants in Iran. Objectives: The main aim of this research was development of bio-fertilizers containing A...

متن کاملDifferentiation of 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate (ACC) deaminase from its homologs is the key for identifying bacteria containing ACC deaminase.
1-Aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate (ACC) deaminase-mediated reduction of ethylene generation in plants under abiotic stresses is a key mechanism by which bacteria can promote plant growth. Misidentification of ACC deaminase and the ACC deaminase structure gene (acdS) can lead to overestimation of the number of bacteria containing ACC deaminase and their function in ecosystems. Previous non-speci...
متن کاملDifferential expression and internal feedback regulation of 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate synthase, 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate oxidase, and ethylene receptor genes in tomato fruit during development and ripening.
We investigated the feedback regulation of ethylene biosynthesis in tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) fruit with respect to the transition from system 1 to system 2 ethylene production. The abundance of LE-ACS2, LE-ACS4, and NR mRNAs increased in the ripening fruit concomitant with a burst in ethylene production. These increases in mRNAs with ripening were prevented to a large extent by treatmen...
